About the City Manager

City Manager John E. Pate serves as the chief administrative officer (CAO) for the City and is appointed by the City Commission. The CAO directs and coordinates administration of the City in accordance with policies determined by the City Commission, Charter, Code of Ordinances, and applicable federal, state, and local law.

Department Oversight

Operational departments reporting directly to the CAO include Budget, Human Resources, Office of Community Services, Public Works, Building and Licenses, and the Police Department. The City has one assistant city managers that report directly to the CAO.

Departments also reporting to the City Manager John E. Pate are Finance (Utilities), Information Technology (IT), and Purchasing.
