The Building and Licensing Department is charged with providing a full range of services to the development community and the citizens of Opa-locka.
The Department reviews and inspects all projects requiring a permit. The City strives to assemble and maintain a team of well-qualified personnel, and all departmental building inspectors are certified inspectors in their respective disciplines.
The Building and Licensing Department receives staff support from Community Development, Public Works and Utilitiesn, and Miami-Dade County Fire Code Compliance. This support includes site plan, project review, right-of-way, and other permitting requirements.
